Jurf al-NasrJurf al-Sakhar – All Arabic and English sources are mentioned as Jurf al-Sakhar. 91.106.36.193 (talk) 09:06, 3 October 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 15:19, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose for now because Jurf al-Nasr appears to be the current official name. I think further investigation is required to determine the common name in up-to-date English-language sources. I see many sources using both names. BegbertBiggs (talk) 12:19, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Liberation?[edit]

This article says that the area is controlled by Khataib Hezbollah, a militia backed by Iran. "Liberation" implies that the Baghdad government retook control, but that's not the case.

Once, This Was Iraqi Farmland. Now It’s Controlled by an Iran-Linked Militia. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/09/world/middleeast/iraq-iran-militias-jurf-al-nasr-weapons.html?smid=nytcore-android-share Halgros (talk) 16:35, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
