Koppo

[edit]

The article says that Yamada studied "Koppo". I don't know of any martial art by that name, but the Koto Ryu teaches a style of jujutsu they call "koppojutsu". Did he study Koto Ryu? That would be very interesting, as koryu tend to be pretty selective. Gwalla | Talk 02:02, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Not completely sure really. I saw a shoot interview with him that used a live translator. He mentioned martial arts training and Koppo. He might have just ment that he learned learned some other Martial Art from which he learned his Koppo(u) kick from. I'll change it until we get some more data on this.

Ah. Then yeah, it was probably some other martial art. The "kopp&3333; kick" (which I believe means "bone-breaking kick") was probably named by him. Gwalla | Talk 19:49, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capoeira. Could this be it?

Note: Jushin Thunder Liger is again a IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion with AKIRA —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.107.145.55 (talk) 05:27, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No info about his WWF days?

[edit]

With the exception of him holding the Light Heavyweight Championship, there is absolutely no mention of his WWF days. I don't have the knowledge to add this myself, but someone should. Mwutz (talk) 08:03, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

-- Although he was their champion, he was never "in" the WWF...he just held the belt through an agreement that The UWA had with the WWF. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.79.27 (talk) 05:00, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

About his Finisher.

[edit]

It's stated that is finisher is Standing or a running high-angle sitout powerbomb, but it SHOULD be noted that at landing, he puts his legs over oppenent's arms.(Sorry, if i express this badly). Yes, he botches it frequently, but Lyger Bomb is not just a sitdown powerbomb. Thanks. --Hawk18727 (talk) 14:44, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jyushin Thunder LigerJushin Liger – Common name in English is "Jushin Liger" (101,000 Google hits) - "Jyushin Thunder Liger" pulls 8,340 hits and "Jyushin Liger" pulls 397 hits, both with a recommendations to correct spelling to "Jushin Liger". Being Japanese, the wrestler's "official name" is actually 獣神ライガ, thus requiring us to use the common name in English - Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it generally prefers to use the name that is most frequently used to refer to the subject in English-language reliable sources. Sources such as MTV, Sherdog, Wrestling Observer/Figure4Weekly, The Mirror and Chikara Pro prefer "Jushin Liger" whereas World Wrestling Entertainment [1][2], Ring of Honor and Slam Sports use "Jushin Liger" or "Jushin 'Thunder' Liger" (note the spelling "Jushin", never "Jyushin") and between those two options, "Jushin Liger" is the most appropriate (cf. Bret Hart rather than Bret "Hitman" Hart). 79.65.126.84 (talk) 13:33, 20 December 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. bd2412 T 01:30, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
