At the end of the first paragraph of the "Education and career" section, include the sentence "During his PhD, Picard applied probabilistic argumentation systems to information retrieval systems." This is to provide information on the focus of his PhD research. A supporting source (ref 4) is provided in the collapsed section below.

Education and career

Picard grew up in Montreal, Canada.[1] He attended Polytechnique Montréal, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and engineering in 1994, and later a Master of Science degree in engineering in 1997.[2] He received a PhD in computer science from the University of Neuchâtel in 2000, before going to the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) for postdoctoral research in digital watermarking, focusing on the problem of securing products and documents against counterfeiting.[3] During his PhD, Picard applied probabilistic argumentation systems to information retrieval systems.[4]
