Proposed merge of CSN3 (gene) into K-casein

Describes the same (broadly speaking) protein. Artoria2e5 🌉 06:44, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Structure

[edit]

? Where is it? Describing someone's model of the micelle's/protein's interactions is NOT structure. Kumosinski, et al, 1991 provide the sequence for (I think) bovine k-casein and their later paper details some of the differences between a handful of mammalian k peptides. It's likely a little more digging would produce the full sequence for each of them. I'm not certain that their structure is the full sequence or simply the backbone sequence. Anyway, they show a 169 amino-acid sequence. This at least gives some idea of the size of the protein, which is sorely lacking with the current wikipedia article. I also note that with the recent advances in 3-d structure modeling (AI-based), these earlier papers dealing with proposed 3-d structures shouldn't be relied on for the 3-d aspects of the "structure".71.30.94.234 (talk) 17:40, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
