Above two points are mine using IP as described above thus both points should be accepted as my point

[edit]

I was creator of the article on 26th April, 2014 and who requested for make a redirect page KBCAOS on 5th May, 2014 which is its abbreviation by first letters of K. Banerjee Centre of Atmospheric and Ocean Studies i.e. KBCAOS — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vivek Kumar Pandey (talkcontribs) 05:35, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Redirected

[edit]

I have redirected this article per the discussion here. I was going to merge some material but the Centre is already referred to in the target article and what is referred to here is in part complete gibberish and in part trivial in nature. The Centre is obviously important to those who work there but it does not seem to have any great claim to notability etc in the Wikipedia sense. - Sitush (talk) 10:19, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article is notable

[edit]

Do not delete this important article forcefully. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.206.240.179 (talk) 13:21, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article which was notable more than one year need not delete

[edit]

KBCAOS is an article which remained more than one year on Wikipedia what happened that at this a particular time it needed to delete. It should be preserved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.206.240.179 (talk) 13:33, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What happened at this particular time was that it was discovered that the article was horrible, that the notability of the subject was unclear, and (decisively) that the subject was the same as that of an earlier article that was deleted as the result of the proper process for assessing whether a dubious article should survive or be deleted. Please read and digest the lowermost section of this talk page. -- Hoary (talk) 13:59, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Neither article Notability have doubt nor it is promotional but why deleted or redirected to Allahabad University

[edit]

Hoary it is very hard to accept the deletion of such Very Important article from University of Allahabad based on discussion of a little number of peoples from Wikipedia. There are thousands of the articles are present on Wikipedia which were deleted in past but now remaining as notable article on it after modification. This centre looks associated faculty were working from other department thus it was permanent facultyless at that time in 2008 when this article was created and now 5 permanent faculty person looks working since 2009 and have good number of publication in Ocean and Atmospheric and Environmental Science related journal of international repute as per scholarly article search, but why you two/tree person are highly very aggressive to delete it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.139.76.5 (talk) 05:13, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly one or more persons writing messages on this talk page is/are unwilling or unable to click on a link and read the text that's there. Therefore let me copy here the text to which I link above:

Please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/K. Banerjee Center of Atmospheric and Ocean Studies. I quote its opening sentence: "The result was delete."

Whether the title is spelt "Center" or "Centre", do not attempt to re-create this article.

However, if (and only if; below, "IFF"):

  • Lifebaka (who closed the deletion discussion) interpreted the discussion incorrectly; or
  • significant new information has come to light since the deletion (information that justifies recreating the deleted page); or
  • there was a (were) substantive procedural error(s) in the deletion discussion

then (because Lifebaka is now inactive) read about "deletion review" very carefully. IFF your proposed article meets the criteria, carefully read and follow the instructions for "deletion review".

NB your concision will aid your persuasiveness.

You complain that "two/tree person are highly very aggressive to delete [this article]". Who has seemed to be strongly in favor of deleting the article or of redirecting it elsewhere (or the first and then the second)? A quick look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/K. Banerjee Center of Atmospheric and Ocean Studies and the history of this talk page tells me: Iain99 and BozMo (both since retired), JzG, William M. Connolley, David Eppstein, Sitush, SpacemanSpiff and myself. Perhaps we should be reprimanded for our alleged aggressiveness. You might request this, after you have succeeded in your request for "deletion review". -- Hoary (talk) 06:25, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion is injustice with the article KBCAOS

[edit]

I gone through the page suggested by Hoary but it seems injustice with the article KBCAOS, effort of creator and editors of the article and a large number of the people who like it as proud of University of Allahabad and other who hit on it on the internet searching Atmospheric and Ocean Science Centre in India. What mean by only redirection? There are many centres name in Allahabad University article but they are not so much important as it ios only Atmospheric and Ocean Science Centre in the north Indian Universities. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.204.89.91 (talk) 13:58, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to say this once more, despite the fact that you don't seem to listen to or comprehend what multiple other editors are trying to tell you. The university is notable, but different centres and departments aren't necessarily notable. You have not bothered finding any reliable sources to prove otherwise, but seem intent on some sort of promotion of individual personalities. That is not what Wikipedia is for. —SpacemanSpiff 15:43, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
