Other meaning of "KACE"[edit]

Anon users have added information about a company called "KACE" to this article several times. The article here has been around for a long time and is about an unrelated meaning (a radio station), so I have moved the company material to a separate page (KACE (company)). If that material is indeed spam or otherwise non-notable, let's handle its removal by the usual mechanisms instead of a revert-war here. NB: I concur that as written it fails WP:SPAM and WP:CORP. Disagree[edit]

Hi. The information posted on KACE was informational in nature and verymuch in line with thiw companies competitiors

Can you please explain why this insertion was different that these others who are very similar? Why are these organizations okay, while KACE is spam?

Cite multiple reliable sources that support the notability of this company. DMacks 01:51, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The list is below. Please let me know if this is sufficient or what else I need to do to post here

Lastly, please run thiw on google. When you search on “kace and appliance” you get over 1million hits. When you search on “kace and radio” you get 100k. That’s pretty telling from my book.

I have again removed that addition to the page. It still is about a different meaning of "KACE", so it still belongs on a different page. Wikipedia needs to be organized, not "every unrelated meaning of a term lumped onto a single page". And the content was still hopeless spam by Wikipedia standards. Despite what you say above, none of that was in the article. The article itself must assert the notability of the company and support those assertions with citations. I have reposted along the guidelines of several companies. Please let me know specifically what else you'd like to see changed.

As for placement, we should not be punished because we happen to share our name with a radio station. I am more than happy to share the real estate.

Thanks

Wikipedia is about organizing and helping people find what they want. As such, unrelated topics should not be mixed on a single page. You're not being punished, you're being identified by what you are and being made distinct from something that isn't related. DMacks 18:03, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Now we are getting closer to a reasonable solution :-)

I'd like to addressees your point about the point of wikipedia. How do you know people are looking for KACE (radio station) and not KACE company?

What evidence do you have that people are looking for KACE (radio station)and not KACE (company)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaceuser (talkcontribs) 18:18, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We don't know what people want when they look for "KACE". But we do know that the KACE page has been the radio station since July 2006, so unless there is actual evidence that some other meaning is the large majority of searching, "the same meaning it's had for the past 16 months" seems to me like a reasonable thing to have here. OTOH, the very first line of the page helps people find other meanings if the radio station isn't what they wanted. DMacks 18:27, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
True, we don't know what people are searching for. What we do know is that people are much more aware of KACE (company) than KACE (radio station). We can measure this by the amount of traffic on google.

That is emperical evidence that more persons are writing about, searching for and INTERESTED IN kace (company) than KACE (radio station)

I would disagree that because this page has been about KACE (radio station) in the past, that means its the best now. Times change. Much as the radio was supplanted by the TV :-) KACE (company) should supplant (KACE) radio station)

Lets put a link to KACE (FM?) at the bottom of the KACE page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaceuser (talkcontribs) 18:57, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who are you?[edit]

Who are you and why do you keep changing this page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaceuser (talkcontribs) 19:03, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am someone who has read WP:DISAMBIG guidelines on how to handle this exact situation. DMacks 19:07, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Great, now we have something in common :-). I disagree with your interpretation of the article. Please outline why you are making this change when I have offered you real evidence that more persos are interested in KACE (company) than KACE (radio station) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaceuser (talkcontribs) 20:01, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Both the radio station and the networking company have their pages, and this disambiguation page can be expanded if needed. I hope we are all satisfied now. --Orange Mike 21:50, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
