Fair use rationale for Image:KVOS3.JPG[edit]

Image:KVOS3.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:22, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

KVOS on Cable in Seattle.[edit]

It Appears that Comcast cable in Seattle is now carrying KVOS on cable channel 72. This is the first time in twenty years. Here's the link from KVOS's website with the listing. Csworldwide1 (talk) 15:51, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Granite Falls is not within 15 miles of Bellingham like the article says[edit]

The article says

In 2008, KVOS filed an application to the FCC to build its digital facility in Granite Falls in Snohomish County. (48°08′09″N 121°58′56″W) The proposed location would have provided city-grade coverage of most of the Seattle area while remaining within 15 miles of Bellingham, as required by FCC rules.

That location is well beyond 15 miles of Bellingham. What is this part of the article really supposed to say?

I am challenging note regarding KVOS TV being removed from Seattle cable systems[edit]

Folks:

I am a Bellingham, Washington TV producer for Access Bellingham Television. I have recently done a video documentary on the demise of the KVOS TV Studios in Bellingham. Some of my information came from this article on KVOS TV.

I got some very strong pushback on the sentence in the article stating:

"In the early 1990s, due to Federal Communications Commission syndicated exclusivity rules affecting the Seattle media market, KVOS was dropped from most Seattle cable television systems."

This sentence was after discussion of Canadian Cable channels removing KVOS from their lineups.

The people that I talked with here in Bellingham told me it made sense that the Canadians would remove KVOS from their Cable lineups because their own offerings were being enhanced and they would want their own sources on their cable systems. However, it makes no sense that the FCC would want KVOS TV, a United States TV station removed from cable systems in Seattle, which is in the United States.

Looking carefully, I see no sourcing for this sentence about the FCC ordering Seattle cable to remove KVOS TV.

I am do a new video about KVOS and I intend to leave this non-sourced statement out and I intend to remove that sentence from the article if I do not get sourced feedback from this comment.

Thank you

Respectfully Yours

KVOS Carriage in Canada[edit]

The article makes mention of the fact that Univision's domestic schedule will be available in the Canadian markets that carry KVOS. This is actually incorrect. Canadian cable operators (namely Rogers/Shaw) carry the third sub channel which is METV programming. The CRTC allowed this a few years ago.Bigoranget (talk) 18:29, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
