Intelligible or not?

Maybe this article is perfectly clear to musicians and other well-educated persons in India. But outside India, it is almost unintelligible even for those who have a good knowledge of Western theory of music. It seems that for most Western musicians, the only hint in this article of what Kafi actually is, is in the picture of the piano keyboard, which suggests that it is a musical scale analogous to what in the West is traditionally called Dorian scale. And this is confirmed by the fact that at the end of the page Dorian scale, in the See also section, there is a link here, and there, but not in this article, it actually is said that it corresponds to the Dorian scale.
