Zertal

[edit]

Zertal writes that Robinson visited in 1844...that must be a mistake (the books were published in 1841!)...Robinson, AFAIK, visited in 1838, Huldra (talk) 21:09, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Zertal's broken reference is to Robinson's later book published in 1856 describing his travels in 1852. This is fairly certain due to the matching date (April 21) and the matching page numbers (121–122). Zerotalk 22:08, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I dont know Robinson, 1970, but Robinson, 1856 clearly quotes Robinson, 1841, iii, p.158. And Robinson never visited Palestine in 1844, AFAIK. So Zertal did not do an impressive job here, IMO, Huldra (talk) 22:17, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Right, he didn't visit Palestine in 1844. Actually I don't think he visited Kafr Qud on either of his trips. Both the 1841 book and the 1856 book just mention it as a village in the distance. Zertal is wrong on that point as well as on the year. Zerotalk 00:30, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
