Requested move[edit]

The result of the move request was: Speedily moved back. (non-admin closure) Red Slash 03:44, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

KantKant (disambiguation) – It was moved due to an uncontroversial move at RM,[1] but the requester never explained why this "disambiguation page should be at the title without the disambiguator, and the title with the disambiguator should be the redirect". Immanuel Kant is commonly referred to as "Kant", and most links through Google, Google Books, Yahoo!, or Youtube refer to Immanuel, therefore the move was incorrect as he is the WP:PTOPIC due to WP:COMMONAME. So the recent move should be reversed and Kant should redirect to Immanuel's page. © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 07:27, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support A clear-cut case of wp:primarytopic. (Don't forget the {{about|the philosopher|other uses}} hat note; people are too often sloppy w/ hat notes IMNSHO. This was your daily ration of wikigoodthink. ). walk victor falk talk 09:30, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong support. That was a particularly poorly considered "uncontroversial" technical request. olderwiser 12:54, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • support: Kant must redirect to the philosopher, with a {{redirect}} hatnote. PamD 15:43, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, and I'm the one who requested the move that turned Kant into a disambiguation page. Due to being unfamiliar with the subject myself, and seeing that here were a lot of subjects on what was formerly Kant (disambiguation), and the fact they there was not a hatnote on Immanuel Kant that explained why Kant previously redirected there, I did not see the existence of a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. However, I will note that due to the fact that I had already done all of the edits to set up the move from Kant (disambiguation) to Kant (which was changing the target of Kant from Immanuel Kant to Kant (disambiguation)), to those assisting on WP:RMTR, it would have looked like a technical move. Anyways, with the information provided above, I support this move, and let's get a redirect hatnote on Immanuel Kant. Steel1943 (talk) 16:45, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. After the initial move, I cleaned up hundreds of incoming links, virtually all of which were intended for Immanuel Kant. bd2412 T 19:21, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed that as well. I started fixing some of the incoming links after getting the disambiguation page renamed; about 5–10 of them were intended for Kant, Kyrgyzstan, but the rest were for Immanuel Kant. Steel1943 (talk) 21:15, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
