North Halmahera Regency or Tidore City?[edit]

I think that, following the division of the former large area of North Halmahera Regency into 3 administrative areas with the creation of Kota Kepulauan Tidore (Tidore City) and more recently of Morotai Island Regency, the residual North Halmahera Regency now covers a much smaller area, and may no longer include Kao; however I am uncertain of this so can someone verify it?.
