Please provide a proper reference or source for whatever you add to this page, in order that others can verify the facts from that reference. Matter without reference is likely to be deleted. Proposed merger from Karimganj_district

[edit]
Oppose. One is for the city, one is for the district. Have you brought this up at WP:INDIST? There's an entire project for districts that will become defunct if this becomes the standard. Please explain your motivations at our Talk Page. Also, when signing comments please write four "~" symbols. Thanks.

Cheers,

Town renamed from "Karimganj" to "Sribhumi"

[edit]

@Fylindfotberserk: Hi, as per Official X channel, News1, News2, renaming of the town has been officially done, notified, and confirmed. Per discussed similarly @District Talkpage.   Jor langneh (Talk) 21:47, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request to move the page to Sribhumi (Town). I am from this town and can say Sribhumi is not only the official language but also the name used by the most of the people of this town. Actually when Karimganj was official, people used to refer to Sribhumi including me... now both the common and official name is Sribhumi. Goswami21 (talk) 05:54, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

KarimganjSribhumi (town) – The town has been renamed, and notified to public through Official X channel. (News1)   Jor langneh (Talk) 11:34, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Karimganj" with quotes get 1,000+ hits in Google News, while "Sribhumi" gets a little over 300, that too because of the recent name change. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 20:40, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's not how the policy works. It requires evidences from the internet itself. Karimganj has always been the most commonly used name per Ngrams. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 20:40, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
