Untitled[edit]

The book "Nazi Millionaires" identifies an SS Obergrupperfuhrer named von Sauberzweig charged with graft and corruption in occupied Warsaw circa 1940. Is this the same character ?

Place of death[edit]

What is the source supporting that Sauberzweig died in Preetz? The sources I know of, which I can provide if needed, claim that he comitted suicide in Internment Camp (Internierungslager) Neuengamme. —Jake V (talk) 16:40, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The published sources that support Neuengamme are:

Wolfgang Keilig (1983): Die Generale des Heeres. Podzun–Pallas–Verlag, p. 291
Reinhard Stumpf (1982): Die Wehrmacht–Elite: Rang– und Herkunftsstruktur der deutschen Generale und Admirale 1933–1945. H. Boldt, p. 44
Johnathan Trigg (2011): Hitler's Jihadis: Muslim Volunteers of the Waffen–SS. The History Press (without page number)

(furthermore, there are archival sources — of course we can't use them, but I mention them nevertheless —, namely the Sammlung Krug and correspondence from the Bundesarchiv — as per Stumpff).

Finally, Lepre's book (used in the article) claims (p. 271) that Sauberzweig committed suicide in British Civil Internment Camp No. 6 (formerly KZ Neuengamme). In contrast, I coudn't find any sources supporting Preetz. Of course, the issue is not a big deal, I was just hoping that a source for Preetz would be provided. —Jake V (talk) 18:43, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
