date of death[edit]

article has him dying in 1891 and 1904 - which is it?Tttom1 (talk) 16:57, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for flagging this dates of death conflict - there is a 1904 death date but it seems to be primarily an online fact (eg findagrave and dictionary of arthistorians ) Victuallers (talk) 21:40, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Waagen's technique[edit]

A brief word on Waagen's technique would make Baron Liphardt's recognition of Leonardo more understandable. --Wetman (talk) 18:43, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Are you aware what it was? Victuallers (talk) 19:30, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality/Ethnicity[edit]

"Estonian intelligentsia" isn't really right. Estonia was not a country at the time. His family were Baltic Germans, living, like many Baltic Germans, in Russia. Maproom (talk) 23:12, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Maproom ... Hey - you are free to edit this! I guess "local" or "contemporary" intelligensia would work. He does seem to have a hand in the university/ museum/ learned society/Russian court etc Victuallers (talk) 15:57, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
