Emily Dickinson did indeed have an aunt named Catherine Dickinson Sweetser, who was her father's sister, but that is not this individual; Catherine ("Aunt Katie" in one letter) died in 1895 according to the NYT obit. Kate Dickinson Sweetser is the daughter of Charles H. Sweetser, one of Catherine's sons. She was possibly named for her grandmother, which is perhaps where the confusion came from.
