[edit]

Katie is the face of the wonderbra's d-g range and has caused quite a lot of scandal in the uk over the last few days. Here is a link to a recent newspaper article http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/article38997.ece

I site WP:NOT#NEWS. While she is causing a stir, I don't beleive it will be particularly notable. If it does in fact become notable over time, I suggest adding it then. -- Matthew Glennon(Talk to me) 22:27, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

The second paragraph of the article on Page 3 clearly states that there is a dispute about whether Page 3 girls are softcore pornography.

The link to the pornography portal is not an attempt to resolve this dispute, but merely a reflection that the dispute exists and therefore Page 3 girls are a topic of interest to the pornography project. --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 11:46, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Katie Green, Nikon Solutions Expo, 2008 (crop).jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on August 28, 2015. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2015-08-28. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Chris Woodrich (talk) 23:47, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Katie Green
Katie Green (b. 1987) is an English model from Chichester, West Sussex, who began her career in the mid-2000s. She is unusual among models because of her height (5 ft 10 in (1.78 m)) and weight (10 stone 5 pounds (66 kg; 145 lb) in 2011); she refuses to lose weight to conform to norms agencies expect of models, and has initiated a campaign against size zero models. Green continues to model and has represented Ultimo and Sony Bravia, and appeared in numerous publications and campaigns.Photograph: Nguyen Dinh Quoc-Huy; edit: Keraunoscopia
Was someone paid to put this picture up as POTD? The article reads like an advert spiced with gossip, and seem quite uncharacteristic of POTD articles.--Anders Feder (talk) 06:36, 28 August 2015 (UTC) (I've tried to reduce the peacockery in the lede a bit.[1])--Anders Feder (talk) 06:48, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"unusual among models because of her height"

[edit]

How is her height unusual? 5'10" is the dead middle for women models, give or take an inch. Upjav (talk) 22:43, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that her height was "so ordinary" among women models, yet she is much heavier than an average model, makes her refusal to losing weight to conform to the modeling industry more "dramatic". However the sentence might need to be rephrased more clearly to reflect her uniqueness.--Quest for Truth (talk) 23:25, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I figured, but figured I'd clarify. Upjav (talk) 00:56, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
