Gratuitous nonsense

[edit]

The inclusion of a lengthy quote about "standing in a room full of fifty men in your underwear" does not strike me as encyclopedic nor add very much to my knowledge of the subject. Does anyone want to argue for its retention before I excise it? Cheers Bjenks (talk) 15:02, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Date of Birth

[edit]

Kaya Scodelario's modeling page say's her birthday is February 13, 1992 but her Wikipedia page and IMDB page say her birthday is in March. One of these dates must be corrected.Yellow wiggle (talk) 03:15, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

March is correct. Source: her twitter account last year. Mowsbury (talk) 22:00, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite?

[edit]

Someone tagged the article as needing a rewrite (Feb 2010). It seems about right for what you'd expect from an aspiring actress with only a few roles and a side in modelling. The personal life information needs to be carefully source and perhaps the article might be tagged as needing specific cleanup but it being tagged as needing a rewrite seems odd. Hopefully the person who tagged it will make a start on the rewrite soon and outline what changes they feel are necessary. -- Horkana (talk) 01:09, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Aspiring actress" is a bit harsh. Okay, her fame might not last, but how many other people who are merely "aspiring" to be famous already have wikipedia articles in fifteen languages? This English version has been looked at by over a thousand people a day every day for the last year and a half. Wimstead (talk) 02:35, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Football team

[edit]

I have once again removed the claim about her supporting Arsenal as it was uncited and trivial. Someone has already challenged it and therefore it is deemed contentious. This is a WP:BLP and any uncited contentious material can be removed. I have looked and can find no backing for this claim from any source. Even if it could be sourced it is pretty trivial. If you can find a source that she actively supports Arsenal ie visited games etc then it could be considered as important information to include in a biography. Woody (talk) 17:23, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Editors seem to have very different ideas of what is contraversial and sometimes it seems almost impossible to keep anything marked "citation needed" in a biography article anymore. Thanks for at least trying to find a source. Lack of notability is the better reason to remove it anyhow. -- Horkana (talk) 01:10, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if any of you ever look at her twitter page, but on there she shows she supports Asenal. cba to find links, but if you look to when we faced Barca and lost 4-1, you will see it —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.6.23.231 (talk) 00:52, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

She's mentioned this on twitter repeatedly. If this is not considered a reliable source, while error-strewn newspapers are, wikipedia's rules are a joke. Mowsbury (talk) 21:54, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dating...

[edit]

I've removed a claim that Scodelario is dating Plan B (This edit claimed "Plan B") The previous claim was that she was dating Elliott Tittensor. Rather than revert to that version I've removed the sentence completely.

The Plan B claim was not supported by the cite, which merely said that she'd appeared in a music video with Plan B. The Tittensor claim seems stronger: Google returns a fair bit. The website used to cite the Tittensor claim contained malware, but I'll try and locate an alternative. Note, too, that the cite itself contained a quote from yet another source, long since replaced, which supported a claim that she had been linked to Nicholas Hoult.

Given the mess it's easier simply to remove the claim entirely, until it's resolved. The article is a WP:BLP and we need to avoid unsubstantiated or weakly substantiated claims. TFOWR 07:58, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

She's been dating Tittensor since late 2009, and living with him since mid 2010. This has been reported and confirmed umpteen times. There are hundreds of photos of them together on google images. Mowsbury (talk) 21:47, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Award box removal

[edit]

I've reinstated the Award box as there's no reason for it to be removed - Most if not all award boxes here are unsourced but that doesn't mean it should be removed ... It means someone should dig around and source it when they have the time. –Davey2010Talk 23:20, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality

[edit]

At some point, someone added WP:HIDDEN text suggesting that Scodelario shouldn't be identified as Brazilian. This wasn't proper, since there was no discussion and no consensus. Per this interview, she considers herself Brazilian. Whether she's a Brazilian citizen isn't clear, but given that her mother is Brazilian, it's hardly impossible. I think a source quoting her as saying she's Brazilian is sufficient to include. agtx 03:20, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It does not matter what she considers to be. She can only be considered a Brazilian if she holds a Brazilian citizenship, which is not proven. She may consider herself "Brazilian" for cultural connection, but by Wikipedia rules, this is not enough. Xuxo (talk) 00:13, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Could you provide a link to these rules? Why should there be no mention in the article at all that she considers herself Brazilian, if that can be clearly demonstrated? --Kwekubo (talk) 19:54, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
MOS:NATIONALITY.--☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 21:12, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
She's not a Brazilian citizen. If she claims to be Japanese, then we should consider it? Her mother is Brazilian, not her. Xuxo (talk) 23:28, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Where to include this in her filmography? (Walking Stories, 2013)

[edit]

This particular project (which is essentially a glorified advert for Salvatore Ferragamo S.p.A.) is listed in most places as a single 21 minute film/short, but some other places including SF themselves list it as having also existed in a serialised format consisting of eight episodes (not sure if before/after/concurrent to the film/short version). While the official uploads of either version no longer seem to exist, unofficial reuploads can be found quite easily (though I have no idea if this reupload of the serialised version is in full or simply trimmed down to Kaya's screentime only).

Going off Polish Wikipedia, there does seem to be precedent for listing both the feature-length and serialised versions of a work on the relevant actor's page (e.g. both Kobiety Mafii films were also released in a serialised format at a later date, and this is reflected on Agnieszka Dygant's Polish-language article). Should that approach be followed, or do we prioritise one version over another? - Dvaderv2 (talk) 04:45, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
