At WikiProject Cornwall we subscribe to the policies laid down by Wikipedia - particularly civility and consensus building. We are aware that the wording on Cornish entries can sometimes be a contentious topic, especially those concerning geography. You don't have to agree with everything but there is no excuse for rudeness and these things are best solved through consensus building and compromise. For more information see WP:CornwallGuideline.
These pages are not platforms for political discussion. Issues relating to Cornish politics should be restricted to those pages that directly deal with these issues (such as Constitutional status of Cornwall, Cornish nationalism, etc) and should not overflow into other articles.

A fact from Kelly's of Cornwall appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 18 August 2016 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that Kelly's of Cornwall produced the first advertisement shown on national British television to feature the Cornish language?
A Bold edit was made to crowbar in an infobox; I've Reverted, and now, although it's not my place to do so, I'll assume the position of Discuss. I'd hate to be accused of disruption, etc. Now, I'm not against an infobox here, entirely, but I do think the article should be left to mature, somewhat, before we "help the poor old reader" navigate their way through an article which is only at a few thousand bytes, at present. Because of that, I feel we only have a WP:DISINFOBOX at the moment. Let's be honest, it's not exactly a mission to read the very short lede, as it is. CassiantoTalk11:56, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'll AGF and say you didn't mean to break the BRD cycle, no problem. Like I say, I'm not against one; I just worry that at the moment it is redundant owing to the very short lead section, which I've tried to extend upon. I'd be quite happy to put it back in myself when more complex and obscure information is found. But it is a direct copy of the lede, at present. No hard feelings. Also, was the company really renamed first (as implied by the sentence), or did the family change their name first? --Khajidha (talk) 22:18, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Good question. I am guessing that Calicchia was changed to Kelly, surprising as this is an Irish name? I'd guess that the family name would have been changed first. That local press source just says: "Kelly's was established by managing director Philip Kelly's great-grandfather, Joseph Staffieri, when he moved from Italy to St Austell in the 1890s. The business and family name was changed to Kelly in the 1930s and moved to its present Bodmin site in the 1970s." Martinevans123 (talk) 22:26, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
