Seems to me we should just have one article that covers both the football and basketball rivalries. Acdixon 16:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Oren0 21:15, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merging the rivalry together is perfect. No sure the basketball rivalry is called the Battle of the Bluegrass, think we need some citation. Living in Louisville i can say that the name of the first (modern) basketball game "The Dream Game" is still used locally to refer to this game among both Uk and UofL fans. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Drknipple (talkcontribs) 06:21, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree one article is needed for both basketball and football Alex22406 (talk) 13:19, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wildcati Cardinalinian Conflict...[edit]

I have lived in the Lexington, KY area my entire life and have been a Kentucky fan for much of it. I have NEVER heard of the UK-UofL rivalry referred to as "The Wildcati Cardinalinian Conflict"...

Cleanup[edit]

As an outsider, the abbreviations are confusing. If the rivalry is Kentucky versus Louisville as the scoreboards show, how about using Kentucky and Louisville throughout the article, rather than UK and UofL?

The background section can be shortened allowing each school article to reveal their detailed history. Focus on the rivalry.

I edited sentences in the History section: more needed. Stevecalloway 02:38, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

-- This is irrelevant. If you cannot determine that Louisville is UofL and Kentucky is UK than you should not be editing any articles. -- David3164

Football graph needs updating[edit]

The graph for the football series needs to be updated to include the 2007 game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.224.111.219 (talk) 19:23, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UofL has dominated the "Modern" Football Rivalry

The above was removed because it is now inaccurate and out of date. Please add an updated graph to the page! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.224.111.244 (talk) 03:58, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citations needed[edit]

I came across this article today and saw major areas that need citations: for example, you can't just say that Tubby Smith attracted African American fans to the University of Kentucky because he's black. Also, I've never heard of Rick Pitino being called "Benerick" - certainly not by the professionals in the local media; and as this is harmful/rude AND uncited, it's gone. If you want to put it back in, put a link to your legitimate source. Portia1780 (talk) 01:55, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Background History Section vandalized[edit]

An anonymous user has changed the history section to include information about the foundation of Transylvania University three times. The University of Kentucky was founded in 1865 by splitting from Transy (and Transy remains a separate active university). The University fo Kentucky claims 1865 as its founding date (see the citation, the university seal, or any University produced material for this fact). Please stop removing cited and verifiable information dr. knipple (talk) 19:19, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The history and background section was changed again by the same user. This is now the fourth time that this user has changed this information to an un-cited and incorrect version of history. dr. knipple (talk) 14:38, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The history and background section was changed again by the same vandal. This is now the fifth time. dr. knipple (talk) 04:39, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The history and background section was changed again by the same vandal. This is now the billionth time. I'd like the vandal to also vandalize the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville articles in the future, as these history sections are taken from those articles. dr. knipple (talk) 13:59, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Louisville vacated 2012 game[edit]

I see that the 2012, which was won by Louisville, but subsequently vacated by the NCAA, is still counted as a UoL win. As I understand it, the official record book will now show that game as a Kentucky victory. Shouldn't this page reflect this? --rogerd (talk) 00:08, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As I understand it, the record reflects as if the game was never played. The NCAA vacated victories but not losses, too. So if the record would show a loss, it would still be there. Wins just never happened as far as the record is concerned. — HiB2Bornot2B talk Go Big Blue! 16:03, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
