History[edit]

This needs either correction or clarification: "The Oaks and the Derby are the oldest continuously contested sporting events in history". See the Wikipedia page for Kiplingcotes Derby: "The Kiplingcotes (also spelled Kipling Cotes) race is the oldest in England having taken place every year since 1519." 75.134.23.211 (talk) 00:41, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Join our article development and backlog drive taking place during the period of the Kentucky Derby Festival, April 20 – May 5, 2024.
