Merge proposal

[edit]

I propose merging or simply redirecting Nairobi–Malaba Standard Gauge Railway to Kenya Standard Gauge Railway. The content in Nairobi–Malaba Standard Gauge Railway is outdated and not being updated. All the information contained in the article can be found with better quality in the Kenya Standard Gauge Railway article. ANairobian (talk) 13:39, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suspicious url

Something amiss

[edit]

Kenya Standard Gauge Railway#Standards The combination of maximum height of 5,300 mm (17 ft 4+58 in) and Overhead catenary 25 kV AC / 50 Hz does NOT permit double-stack rail transport on well cars which requires 20 ft 3 in (6,170 mm). And as for double stack on flatcars, that is really dreaming in technicolor. See also Loading gauge#Freight Peter Horn User talk 05:20, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See also Double-stack rail transport#Outside North America. Only on 5 ft 6 in (1,676 mm) gauge in India is double stacking on flatcars possible. The center of gravity is the issue. Peter Horn User talk 16:17, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Double stack freight trains have run on the existing section since 2018 for what it's worth... Hobbitschuster (talk) 12:34, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
