Failed "good article" nomination

[edit]

This article has failed its Good article nomination. This is how the article, as of February 16, 2022, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: Not written in an encyclopedic and neutral tone. Plenty of MOS issues, particularly with the use of hyphens instead of dashes, misplaced quotation marks, and inconsistent use of conversions.
2. Verifiable?: Unsourced paragraphs in several sections, including the entire "Today" section. The sources used are almost all unlinked (despite some being likely available online) and lacking in detail. The newspaper sources, for example, only list the paper and date of publication, missing the title, page number, and/or author.
3. Broad in coverage?: Far too much detail for events in the 19th century with comparatively little for the 20th century. The Toll section in particular is very guidebook-like. The lead is also far too short.
4. Neutral point of view?: See above.
5. Stable?: Pass Pass
6. Images?: Fine, but the captions need improvement.

The lack of appropriate sources is a major issue that needs to be fixed before attempting a second nomination.

When these issues are addressed, the article can be renominated. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to have it reassessed. Thank you for your work so far.— SounderBruce 00:33, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
