His real name[edit]

Georga arrests record has his birthname as Kevin Jerome Gilyard, the image is clearly of Gates, just as AllMusic credits him as Kevin Gilyard for his songwriting on his singles/albums. While according to XXL his government name is Marcellus Kevin Gates, however that might have been done in a way to hide his real name, as some street rappers like to do. Irrelevant Content?[edit]

This section has many errors and many non sourced information has no mention of his early starts with dead game records, initial mixtape etc information easily found online. References for claims are all irrelevant or 404'd[edit]

Orphaned references in Kevin Gates[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Kevin Gates's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
