Population via India 2011 census[edit]

Hello, having trouble figuring out the population.

A google search returns 94,191 per http://www.census2011.co.in/data/town/802666-khamgaon.html. I do not know that this is a reputable website.

A search of the India government 2011 census: http://www.censusindia.gov.in/2011census/population_enumeration.html, table A-3 Villages by population in English returns 226,453 for a rural population of Khamgaon. This would be column 7 in the spreadsheet: persons. This number corresponds to each persons tab added up for each of the various village sizes.

If anyone is knowledgeable about these statistics I'd appreciate an explanation! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Furiousferret (talkcontribs) 22:43, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It definitely looks suspect. It's not mathematically possible to have male literacy of 81% and female literacy of 71% averaging to 92%. – Reidgreg (talk) 23:13, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
