Proposed Link[edit]

Hi, I'm working with The Pulitzer Center, a non-profit journalism agency geared towards providing audience to underrepresented news stories. I'd like to link this page to a related articles on the Pulitzer site; http://www.pulitzercenter.org/showproject.cfm?id=20 concerning Khieu Samphan. Please let me know if I can post this link. Many thanks in advance. Blendus 01:14, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Blendus. A belated welcome to Wikipedia. I've seen the discussions on your user page and also your edit history - Wow! lots of links. How about helping me to expand and edit this article first - not just add a single link to one organisation and then move on? At this stage I don't think the article is in very good shape. There are still some significant errors and omissions. There are some interesting articles on the Pulitzer Centre site - thanks for the link. Paxse 17:42, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All in the Family[edit]

I'm interested in the history of Khieu sisters and I was surprised to see here the claim that Khieu Samphan was definately related to Ponnary and Thirith. I've searched for a citation for this claim and (apart from wikipedia) can only find the general citation at the end of this article. It links to a long document on cambodia and the relevant section only says "purportedly relatives of Khieu Samphan" http://lcweb2.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/r?frd/cstdy:@field(DOCID+kh0029)

In my research on the Khieu sisters, I've not come across any mention of a brother (only one other sister), the sisters were from Battambang, while Samphan was from Svay Rieng (opposite sides of the country).

The library of congress article cited for this claim was written in 1987 - when the US and others were still struggling to get good information out of Cambodia. So, it seems likely to me that the original theory was based on Samphan and the sisters having the same family name and being part of the DK regime, but no other evidence - Khieu is a very common family name.

To cut a long story short - if there are no objections in the next few days Samphan loses his family connections OK? Paxse 15:54, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Missing information[edit]

The main body of the article seems a bit of a mess right now. Barely any mention of Communism until my edits just a second ago, and only a brief mention of Pol Pot. Nothing about the alleged atrocities that have this guy serving a life sentence. natemup (talk) 21:35, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Shuttered?[edit]

“ Once the KSA was shuttered by French authorities in 1956…”

what does shuttered mean in this context? I’ve never heard of it, and it seems neither has the dictionary.

Is it a mistranslation and means “closed down”? Rustygecko (talk) 11:49, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
