Why would anyone parody this? It was a social injustice that was done to this man, and though he was not justified in destroying the buildings of those who wronged him, he had the right idea. The true mayor, and the corporations that destroyed Marvin Heemeyer's dream were corrupt, but that does mean they should be parodied on a childish and sophomoric, animated show. OoBrewskioO

Social injustice? According to the Granby cop I heard the story from, the guy had his own cement plant and was just annoyed that the council wouldn't protect him from competition. The whole noble outlaw legend appears to be just that, a legend. Gazpacho 08:26, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why has South Park not done a parody of this event? It is perfect material as 1) nobody was killed or injured (except Marvin), 2) it happened in a small Colorado town, 3) the real mayor sounds as corrupt as the mayor from South Park, and 4) the method is so outrageous it lends itself to satire.--RPlunk 16:46, 21 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Bob Semple "Tank"[edit]

Of some relevance. http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/newzealand/newzealand.html

   Of better (IMHO) relevance :-)

Suggestions[edit]

This is an excellent article, but would be improved somewhat if somebody could explain exactly what the "three external explosions" were, and what exactly is meant by "life support". TheMadBaron 22:04, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Given the "almost airtight"ness of it, I suspect he had some oxygen tanks or other ventilation in there. 68.39.174.238 22:11, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually there were no oxygen tanks inside the dozer. I've seen the inside of it as I was a Deputy District Attorney at the time of the investigation of the incident. He did have external vent and air sources though.

Video[edit]

This video is interesting, but the moronic wannabe dramatic narration and the heroic cop bits just ruin it. I hate this kind of "documentaries"... One more thing - the article states the guy was trying hard not to harm anybody, but the video makes it out as if he was a lunatic killer, not caring who he might kill. Which is true?

Killdozer source?[edit]

If I'm right, the goons from Something Awful came up with the "killdozer" name while the struggle was initially on TV. Correct me if I'm wrong here. [1] - Stick Fig 09:36, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Correct, I was reading that thread as it happened.

Type of Bulldozer[edit]

I removed the section stating it was a Caterpillar, as it was a Korematsu dozer. The condemnation action filed by the DA's office lists it as such (I know as the action has my signature on it). JimZDP 00:23, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong info - true or false?[edit]

Someone posted the following under notes:

Heemeyer committed suicide by using a .357 cal revolver, not by shotgun.
Actual number of structures/buildings damaged or destroyed is 15.
Assertions that Heemeyer "tried to avoid" killing or injuring people are propaganda repeated by his friends and anti-government advocates who adopted Heemeyer as a "poster child" for their cause. He had no way to warn the public that he was on his rampage. In a number of instances, people were occupying buildings, or had only moments prior to his arrival to evacuate, as he drove his machine into them. He also fired .50 cal rifle rounds at bulk propane storage tanks downhill from a seniors' assisted living center in an effort to cause a fire or explosion.
The Granby Town Hall was rebuilt in 2006-2007 and officially opened for business in March 2007. The new Granby Library, also destroyed by Heemeyer, was rebuilt and reopened in 2006.
ADDITION: The second footnote, referring readers to an article about the incident, reveals an example of vicious, anti-government propaganda. The article contains gross errors of fact and is a good example of the lengths these individuals will go to distort reality and misrepresent events to serve their own interests. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by George Leung (talkcontribs) 00:10, 8 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Unless I saw proof from even the local newspaper, these are at best WP:OR and at worst violated WP:NPOV, among some others, such as WP:NOT#SOAPBOX. However, such may also applied to those on current article; it's just that those have news reports from MSNBC to support it. George Leung 01:19, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Trying to avoid killing anyone would be pretty easy, considering that bulldozers are quite noisy, especially when covered by 12' of concrete and 1' of steel. Alx xlA 22:48, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Entry[edit]

How did they get inside to get his body out and do an investigation? I assume they either would use a cutting torch and a ceramic or diamond saw or a jackhammer. 68.151.153.78 03:24, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like they needed to use about the same tools he would have used to make it- cutting torches and stuff. Would have taken them a while...

Speedy Deletion talk[edit]

Using a term from a message board as the title for a Wikipedia article is pretty much against WP:V, WP:RS, nevermind WP:NC. I'd suggest a rewrite, but the page about Marvin Heemeyer exists so this page is superfluous. Anynobody 08:15, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merged the content here into Marvin Heemeyer. Skybunny 00:55, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone know where I can get a KillDozer addon for Carmageddon II?
