Crossrail 2

[edit]

The creation of this article seems to have caused quite a bit of controversy. It is understandable that people are concerned that this is jumping the gun a bit, as this line has been on the drawing board for more than a century and is currently not planned to begin construction before the likely completion date of Crossrail 1 in 2017. However, surely its wikipedia's role to inform readers of this safeguarded route, as long as it is made clear that this is a proposed line, being developed by Crossrail and Transport for London. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.195.96 (talkcontribs)

This article contains little that is not contained in Chelsea-Hackney line, essentially this is a copy/fork. MRSCTalk 11:44, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In essence I would agree with you, however I believe it is beneficial to retain an individual article about every extant / proposed tube station for the benefit of readers and editors when linking. --AlisonW (talk) 11:57, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I can agree with that for something that has detailed plans and/or funded. However, this station doesn't appear to even have an agreed location. A redirect will provide the necessary linkage to the information. MRSCTalk 14:52, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

'Tube' station

[edit]

Given that it now appears extremely likely that the Crossrail 2 will be built to mainline rail standards, rather than Tube, ought this article to be renamed? Chelsea railway station would be most appropriate I think, though this is currently a disambig page. Grunners (talk) 17:31, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. I've moved the article to Chelsea (Crossrail 2) railway station: if it ever gets built, it will probably become the primary topic and can be moved to the current home of the disambiguation page. --RFBailey (talk) 23:14, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I know this is a year late but I disagree that this would be the primary topic as it is no more notable than the station in Melbourne. Simply south ...... time, deparment skies for just 9 years 18:08, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Coordinates and the open streetmap image

[edit]

Whilst the coordinates are currently correct, the location it shows on the Open Streetmap image is wrong. Is there any way to correct this? Simply south ...... time, deparment skies for just 9 years 18:11, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Station scheme scapped

[edit]

A recent edit altered the article to suggest that the King's Road Chelsea station project had been scrapped. This was based on one single, slightly sensationalist news article. I can find no other evidence that the Chelsea station has been cancelled, and indeed it is still included in official TfL publicity. While the station's future may in doubt, to state that it has been cancelled is misleading, so I have removed this suggestion from the article. As per WP:CRYSTAL, please do not add claims that it has been cancelled until an official announcement from TfL confirms this. Cnbrb (talk) 13:37, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
