Confusion about Kingpriests
[edit]Most of the information found in this page refer not to the Kingpriest title, but to Beldinas Pilofiro, the last Kingpriest of Istar and the one found in the Legends and the Kingpriest trilogy. With time this page should either link to a Kingpriest and a Beldinas entry, or just to the Kingpriest title, letting all other information in a future Beldinas entry. Pope
[edit]The Kingpriests always sounded to me like the Popes of our world... Did the writters spoke about it once? Was it a critique of Catholic Church? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.55.120.176 (talk • contribs) .
- Not that I know. I am sure they say something about why they created the Kingpriest in the Annotated Legends, but I am still halfway through the Annotated Chronicles, taking parts of it to reference different articles. -- ReyBrujo 06:56, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- He is in fact very similiar to the Pope, however to say so without confirmation, most likely found in the Annotated Chronicles (haven't read), would be original research. Now then, the main difference between the Pope and the Kingpriest is that the Kingpriest is, as the name entitles, a King and a head priest. He is spiritual, national, political, and, if neccessary, militiary leader, whereas the Pope is only spiritual leader. DoomsDay349 19:02, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Move
[edit]Shouldn't this page be moved to Kingpriests of Istar, as there are more than one Kingpriest? ddcc 03:12, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- This is something I have considered. I remember reading somewhere singular names are preferred instead of plural names. Thus, Kingpriest of Istar instead of Kingpriests of Istar, Dragonarmy of Ansalon instead of Dragonarmies of Ansalon and Knight of Solamnia instead of Knights of Solamnia. I wish I could remember where that came from, though. -- ReyBrujo 03:23, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Kingpriest Trilogy
[edit]Anyone have the Kingpriest Trilogy? I'm planning on reading it soon, but I've still got quite a bit to read, have to finish Dhamon Sage (im on Betrayal), then War of Souls and Dark Disciple. I'm gonna read Kingpriest Trilogy after that, perhaps in November...which is why if anyone has the Kingpriest Trilogy it would be great as it could be done sooner. Of course, November isn't too far away, I guess...DoomsDay349 02:12, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- Kingpriest is (IMHO) the best trilogy ever created for Dragonlance. However, I am also reading Annotated Legends, with has out-of-universe information about the Kingpriest, which is somewhat better for Wikipedia articles. -- ReyBrujo 04:39, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- I never knew Kingpriest Trilogy was so good. Two questions: Does it have more than info on Beldinas, and have you read it? DoomsDay349 15:35, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I have read it, and yes, it has more than info on Beldinas. -- ReyBrujo 18:11, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- Once you're done reading, can you look over Divine Hammer and Kingpriest of Istar, and proofread, etc? ddcc 01:13, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
