Characters

[edit]

Please don't list every character that makes an appearance in the series. This is not a fanpage, but an encyclopedic article. Focus on the main characters and immediate supporting characters. Incidental characters or characters that appear for only one episode should not be listed on the page, but only mentioned in the episode summary. Also, don't list every little characteristic of each character. Focus on their role in the plot, not trivial things like powers, outfits, catch-phrases, etc. —Farix (t | c) 10:44, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sadly people who watch anine like this don't usually focus on the rules being enforced here, and even those that you mentioned is getting forgotten. You cannot convince people that are covering the article alone to change things unless of course it deserved a rewrite. Remember sometimes NOT ALL RULES were required to be followed when trying to cover articles, just the basic ones. Being too restrictive is just choking people off, even if you do not like it. If they add trivial things, that's their thing not yours and doesn't really hurt the article. The only way to hurt the article is MASSIVE spamming of vandalism, which is a problem of this page.--BlackGaia02 (talkpage if you dare) (talk) 02:55, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
"Fans want it" and "fans don't care about the rules" is not a reason to keep trivial details and unimportant characters. You also did not provide any other argument as to why most of those characters are important to the plot or a real-world context. This isn't a fanpage after all, but an encyclopedic article. We have several guidelines on how to write an encyclopedic articles on fiction as well a a policy that all content is verifiable through reliable sources. We don't ignore policies like WP:IINFO and WP:V simply because a few fans may get upset. And if a character doesn't have a significant role in the plot or only appears for one episode, they shouldn't be listed on an encyclopedic article. —Farix (t | c) 11:34, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have to agree with Farix here. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information and the anime and manga Manual of Style notes that "inclusion of characters will vary with the character's importance to the story". An encyclopedia article is meant as an overview of a whole subject, especially with real-world information, and focusing on minutia like minor characters imbalances the article and bogs it down. Information on Wikipedia is meant to be verifiable and that is implausible for minor characters who don't play a major role in the plot and aren't widely covered in reliable sources. Lastly, regarding fans, it is important to remember that WIkipedia is not written for a specific audience, and even fans might come to Wikipedia for brief information. (if you want a resource specifically targeted towards fans, I recommend Wikia) Opencooper (talk) 12:23, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
These are the characters can be listed according to the anime website:
  • 5 Cures [1]
  • 2 supporting character mascots [2]
  • 12 supporting people (and a cat) characters [3] just use a short dictionary definition styled bullet list
  • 2 enemies (one is the generic monster type, other looks like the main antagonist) [4]

According to the cast list, these are considered main characters: 5 cures + 1 mascot [5] If it turns out the supporting people are episodic characters, then remove that grouping. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:52, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Be all appearance and the episode summaries so far, all the characters listed under "Secondary characters" are simply incidental background characters and should be removed. At this point, they aren't anything more than extras even if they are credited on the official website. —Farix (t | c) 19:05, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can't remove category.

[edit]

Hello I am having trouble removing the Category:2017 anime films from this page, since an article dedicated to the actual movie was created .The link still appears on the page after multiple attempts to get rid of it. I request assistance from a better editor then I to help. NeoGeoPocketRobo (talk) 23:25, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Revert back the Region tag

[edit]

Removing the region tagging is not a good idea @Rctgamer3. Even if you say "Covering all of them in the infobox is overkill", its still a stupid decision on your part since that all anime articles need a licensee to be tagged in their specific region!--BlackGaia02 (talkpage if you dare) (talk) 16:39, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
