Article split[edit]

The article is getting a bit long, how about we split the characters or the media information in its own article? Ninja neko 13:24, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And, while you're at it, put the manga information first, since the anime is an adaptation. —Quasirandom 00:32, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think splitting into both characters and media information articles is a good suggestion. --Squilibob 09:56, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Media is split now: List of Kirarin Revolution media. I could still split of the characters, but there wouldn't be much left of this article I think. Ninja neko 16:50, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Live-action[edit]

Some of you may know that there are some live-action segments, with Koharu Kusumi playing Kirari in live-action form. Some of the live-action segments were featured on STAGE 3 and Oha*Star. The actors are also listed on the Japanese Wikipedia (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%81%8D%E3%82%89%E3%82%8A%E3%82%93%E2%98%86%E3%83%AC%E3%83%9C%E3%83%AA%E3%83%A5%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A7%E3%83%B3%E3%81%AE%E7%99%BB%E5%A0%B4%E3%82%AD%E3%83%A3%E3%83%A9%E3%82%AF%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC#.E4.B8.BB.E4.BA.BA.E5.85.AC) I don't know how to format it, but here's the cast listing:

Hope it helps! 71.146.93.39 (talk) 03:26, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, it seems like all of them are also voice actors, and since season 3 started (Kirarin * Revolution STAGE 3), since episode 103, the voice actors for SHIPS has been replaced. Seiji is now played by Shou Kanai and Hiroto by Takuya Ide. 71.146.93.39 (talk) 14:14, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An entry for SHIPS[edit]

I've tried twice to make a Wikipedia entry for SHIPS but it keeps getting deleted. Am I the only person who thinks they need a page now that they are a real-life band with a single on a semi-major record label? Raquel9e (talk) 15:23, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yeah, but they're a band made exclusively for the show and don't expand beyond that. The same could be argued for MilkyWay though. They've only had one single to my knowledge and that really isn't significant enough. Did they chart on their debut? Blackarcadia (talk) 20:30, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plans for cleaning up[edit]

This article needs some serious work, and it's pretty long and has some irrelevant info. Here's what I think we should do:

  • Get rid of the name meanings. Obviously they're significant to the character, but not to the article.
  • Similarly, get rid of anything that would make the characters look like they have a profile. We can merge it with their character descriptions.
  • Stop speculating. I glazed over Hiroto and Seiji's descriptions and they're like "as you can see" or "it may be hinted that..." We're supposed to be stating what we know, not what we're speculating.

If there's any more you'd like to add, or any of these points you disagree with, just say it! Blackarcadia (talk) 20:35, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request for comment about merging Kira Pika and MilkyWay[edit]

Should Kira Pika and MilkyWay be merged to Kirarin Revolution and Kirarin Revolution discography? lullabying (talk) 23:39, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is branching off a move discussion at Talk:Hana o Pūn / Futari wa NS, but after copy-editing this article, I suggest we merge Kira Pika and MilkyWay to Kirarin Revolution or at least Kirarin Revolution discography for the following reasons:

I tried merging via WP:BOLD, but @Moscow Connection: reverted my move per reasons stated on this edit and Talk:Hana o Pūn / Futari wa NS where they stated that the standalone article must remain due to WP:NMUSIC. However, I'm willing to mention that the merge satisfies WP:MERGEREASON:

  1. Duplicate: There are two or more pages on exactly the same subject, with the same scope. Orange tickY Kira Pika / MilkyWay and Kirarin Revolution are different in that one focuses on the group and the other focuses on the show, but Kira Pika and MilkyWay are groups solely created for the show featuring the actresses who are technically still playing their characters from the show. It's just that they're playing them in a real-life context.
  2. Overlap: There are two or more pages on related subjects that have a large overlap. checkY Kirarin Revolution#Anime already mentions the "real-life context" and crossovers with other TV Tokyo shows. Kira Pika and MilkyWay are also basically a band featuring characters from Kirarin Revolution performing in a real-life context. Their music release information also overlaps with Kirarin Revolution discography.
  3. Short text: If a page is very short and is unlikely to be expanded within a reasonable amount of time, it often makes sense to merge it with a page on a broader topic. checkY The group only released two singles and their activities are heavily related to Kirarin Revolution. Most of their music information is already in "Hana o Pūn / Futari wa NS", "Anataboshi", and "Tan Tan Taan!", as well as Kirarin Revolution discography. There is no critical reception about them as a group that warrants a separate article.
  4. Context: If a short article requires the background material or context from a broader article in order for readers to understand it. checkY Kira Pika and MilkyWay were made for Kirarin Revolution and are not independent from the show. The singers were performing as their characters.

This discussion has been going about this in circles with no clear resolution so it'd be nice to get some WP:CONSENSUS from this topic. lullabying (talk) 23:39, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't understand why Lullabying is trying again and again to delete these articles. It's getting tiresome. (My only guess is that the reason is that Lullabying recently created the page "Kirarin Revolution discography" and now thinks that that's the only page that should remain in existence on Wikipedia.)
The musical groups are notable per WP:MUSIC and therefore deserve their own pages. And their pages ere expandable, see the Japanese Wikipedia: ja:きら☆ぴか and ja:MilkyWay (ハロー!プロジェクト). As you can see, the Japanese articles are big enough. --Moscow Connection (talk) 23:53, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • We're not required to follow Japanese Wikipedia policies unless they overlap with our own WP:MOS, so there are local procedures that preside over how the English Wikipedia edits. As for my reasons, I've already stated my reasons why above, and since all of our previous discussions have ended with "no consensus", I started this request for comment. Please also remember to be WP:CIVIL in your response. lullabying (talk) 23:59, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • Where did I say anything about following Japanese Wikipedia policies? I said the musical groups are notable and their articles can be expanded (you said they couldn't). And actually the policies do overlap cause the artists that have charted are notable on both wikis. And these particular artists didn't simply chart, they charted very high, too.
«I started this request as all of our previous discussions have ended with "no consensus."»
        — Exactly, this is the billionth time you are trying to redirect some pages related to Kirarin Revolution to the discography page you created on December 31.
That's not the first time I will have to point you towards this essay → Wikipedia:Drop the stick and back slowly away from the horse carcass. --Moscow Connection (talk) 00:16, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
        • The reason why there hasn't been consensus is because you and I were the only ones discussing this. Gabriel Yuji (talk · contribs) has also suggested moving it at Talk:Hana o Pūn / Futari wa NS but it seems as though discussion went nowhere. I opened a request for comment not to "win a debate with you", but to get an idea of what direction to take these articles (and even "don't merge" is considered a direction). I have to ask you again to be WP:CIVIL and assume WP:GOODFAITH in your approach. As for the article itself, there isn't enough information about reception that hasn't already been mentioned on their singles information and Kirarin Revolution discography. lullabying (talk) 03:45, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
