[edit]I only added the most recent article from The Tyee on this, there are others. This page needs watching because of the promotional campaign to "pitch" the development proposals.Skookum1 (talk) 06:22, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Dolly Varden
[edit]I've noticed, belatedly, that the mention of Dolly Varden was unlinked, with no explanation. She was a character in a Charles Dickens novel and lots of things all over the British Empire (and the US) were named after her. Is there a problem with making that fact easy for our readers to discover? Carbon Caryatid (talk) 20:38, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
- No comment almost a week later, so I'll re-link. Carbon Caryatid (talk) 13:09, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
- Adding a specific link to the character implies the mine was consciously named after the character, which may not have been the case. Given the list at Dolly Varden, it could have been named second-hand after almost any of those, or even named after a person who was named after the character. --Lord Belbury (talk) 10:49, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
