Establishing[edit]

klear is steadily establishing a fan base across North America and have won several Buffalo Music Awards. Aside from the fact that they've had at least one album released in stores nationwide, the band's music has been used in films (though the name of the film whose soundtrack they've appeared on escapes me at the moment), and the song "Picture" from their album "Makin' Noise" had received airplay throughout the United States and Canada in 2004. Furthermore, bands with less accolades than klear have Wikipedia entries that are not tagged with the speedy deletion tag. I wouldn't post an entry for just any random local band unless I've felt that their efforts throughout the years justified it. If I was going to do that, I'd promote my own band. In this case, we're talking about a band who has received international airplay, including one DJ in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada who, upon release of their first album, "7500 Miles," stated that he would play the band every day on his show until they got a record deal, which came to fruition when they signed with Good Charamel Records. Furthermore, another Western New York band, STEMM, has had a Wikipedia entry since 2005, at which time they did not have a record deal - but klear did.

added more information[edit]

As you may have seen, I've done a bit more research into what films and other forms of entertainment that klear has contributed to and added it into the article. I maintain that things that the band has done throughout their existence justifies their presence on Wikipedia. If the other editors feel differently, then I will accept the deletion of this article. Fred Shafer's return[edit]

I wasn't sure how to cite it in the article, but Fred's return to the band was confirmed by him in conversation with myself after their reunion show on August 21, 2008. They should be putting up an official announcement on their myspace or on their website soon, but for the moment, Fred's word is the best source I have.
