Article evaluation[edit]

Hello all,

I am currently in the process of evaluating this article and have come across one major question as I have read through the article. I understand that the article's purpose is to understand the German role, particularly at the start of colonization. Yet, I am struck that the article only uses German sources and perspectives in informing the majority of the information displayed. While the article is presented very neutrally, I think it is important to use other reliable secondary sources that present other perspectives to understand and show the diversity of experiences that are related to this hisotrical moment. I agree, the article is poorly referenced. I suspect a lot of sources were used but never cited. There are several good sources out there. Search for Welser family in Venezuala; don't bother looking for Klein-Venedig, the article title is misleading--many sources don't even refer that name. The Welser family was closely associated with Charles V, so a good biography of him will have some information. Glendoremus (talk) 20:01, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
