Rewrite[edit]

I have done a major rewrite of this article, adding another image, notes and an external link to an excellent picture (side view) that appears on the Website of the Monastery at Valaam. I've also corrected the text with reference to the patriarchal koukoulion. If anyone has any suggestions for improvement of this article, please post your comments. Par for the course[edit]

Once again, the standard, arrogant Wikipedia "contributor" has to be in such a rush to show off his "command" of ancient Greek that he opens his mouth sufficiently wide securely to ensconce his size-seventeen foot, even if shod in a hobnail boot plentifully endowed with lengthy spikes. VEIL is KALYPS- in ancient Greek and VELO (your standard French reverse "loanword"--as if Greek had legitimately to borrow from French) in modern.

Once upon a time, I devoted my lushly compensated time to donate technical articles to this inane, piss-ant forum. What did I ever get for it? Every jack-anus with two cents' worth of "improvement" to contribute proceeded to deface, chip away at, frankly destroy my work.
