Unnotable[edit]

Why is this even a page? Why do stubs not have to meet notability requirements? Should they be deleted if they are never expanded upon? Can any non-notable article simply be marked as a stub to stay on Wikipedia? If there was sufficient verifiable secondary sources about sleds and their construction and use, then by all means there should be an article about them. -Achowat (talk) 20:08, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
But the sources all talk about the sleds to? Why does the Derby get an Article and the Sled does not? Really, I don't think the Sleds should get an article. But I don't think the Derby should get an article all by itself either. It has, like, four sentences. That's worthless. If it were on a page with other 'common scouting events' then that would make sense. But by itself is stupid.75.42.222.149 (talk)

Significant coverage and Presumed.

In short, I do not understand these stubs. I have been told that stubs do not need to meet notability because they are only a starting point and will be expanded to a full article later. Except years pass and they still use the same excuse. All of these stubs I've been complaining about make no sense. 20:42, 9 December 2011 (UTC)~
To answer your questions: Yes, stubs must meet the same notability standards. No, stubs are not required to be improved (WP:NORUSH). Only notable articles can be created, even as stubs. Anyone who told you that stubs don't need to be notable was mistaken on our Consensus. Now, as to your real concerns. "Significant Coverage". Well, there are 4 references from 3 sources (2 of which are national publications.) "Presumed" is trickier.
