On JA translation

[edit]

If the translation of the JA version pushes through, do we copypaste everything to the point of total revision, such as outline, character listings etc? Though I'd think we'll have to strike the vehicle listings out because of in-universe perspective (the way I saw it in Google). As the EN article stands, it can be expanded as to be different from the JA. What do you think? --Eaglestorm (talk) 19:36, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You NEVER copypaste anything onto wiki except quotes with sources. Even though it is a translation, you cannot copy word for word from the JA website. However, you can rewrite paragraphs and trivia into prose.Extremepro (talk) 20:58, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying. It struck me as odd that JA admins have not labelled sections of the article (even Kyokujitsu no Kantai) as being too crufty or whathaveyou (maybe they're not as active there as the EN admins are in here, but that's just me.). I hope other Nippongo-literate Wikipedians come and help out-one editor referred me to Kasuga for example. --Eaglestorm (talk) 10:36, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I'm currently working on the episode guides and are browsing the Google translated versions of what I think is called the Kantai trilogy to get a better grasp of the series: Konpeki, Kyokujitsu, and Shin Konpeki. Any Japanese help will be most welcome. --Eaglestorm (talk) 14:21, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
