Why does this article contain so much information on the race war and so little on the cigarettes? A very odd page indeed.

Seconded. This page is silly. Will cut down. Maybe some can be salved for a page on menthol cigarettes in general. - stewacide

Removal of "Cigarette brands" category

[edit]

I have removed Category:Cigarette brands from this article because Category:R.J. Reynolds brands is a sub-category of the former. It defeats the purpose of having this subcategory if we're going to list the articles in both. SchuminWeb (Talk) 01:48, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As a menthol flavored cigarette, the rough taste of tobacco is dulled as the menthol numbs the mouth, allowing for a smoother, full inhalation.

This is a blatant commercial, "smooth"? Give me a break. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.81.185.210 (talk) 20:12, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

The photographs of ALL tobacco products should be removed from Wikipedia because it is letting a deadly product to be advertised for free, which is morally and ethically wrong. Tobacco kills millions of people each year. It is not necessary at all to have pictures of these products on Wikipedia, and if people are searching for pictures of tobacco products, then they can use a search engine, not Wikipedia. Please do not let photos/pictures of tobacco products be placed on Wikipedia. I am removing the photographs from this page. Thanks, Gillies corner 00:25, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What are you a smoke nazi? Your statement is ridiculous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.38.177.157 (talkcontribs)

There's pictures of guns there, and I'm pretty sure those kill a lot more people than cigarettes do. Furthermore, nowhere on this website does it say that you cannot have pictures of deadly products. Potatoes9000 (talk) 06:01, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I long for a place to go where I can have the freedom to SEE a tobacco product with no fuss from smoke nazis. I was happy to get to read about Kool cigarettes here, not having it be hidden from me because some health control freak doesn't want any talk about cigarettes. I wish there was a place we could see and hear those old cigarette commercials, no hassels from some health control freak Big Brother. Its a nostalgia thing for me. Longing for the days America was free enough to let us see cigarette commercials on television and hear the songs like "Come up to the Kool taste, taste extra freshness every time you smoke" I REMEMBER IT!!! God I miss those days! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.69.137.7 (talkcontribs)
Wow, the person made a suggestion, and you people just trash-talked him. You call him a pussy, yet you sit behind your little computer screen, and would never be that confrontational in your entire life. Learn how to talk to people. You might find that your life will be substantially better if you just chill the fuck out and actually discuss things without being pugnacious. Disagree while making humane suggestions. He's wrong, but you don't have to compare him to a mass-murdering fascist or threatening his life.
Also, cigarettes do kill more than guns, and before you make fun of someone, learn how to spell the word WHICH IS SPELLED CORRECTLY AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. It just makes you look even more like a neanderthal.

I have removed an unsigned comment above that was clearly in breach of Wikipedia's acceptable behaviour rules (no personal attacks). I also wonder if the second comment above ("what are you, a smoke nazi?") could also be removed on these grounds, but do not feel sufficiently knowledgeable about Wikipedia's guidelines to make a judgement on this. Race/Cultural Appropriation

[edit]

I have removed the unsubstantiated racial claims in the article that were totally out of place and not relevant to green cigarettes specifically. It could be noted that African-Americans as a group tend to prefer menthol cigarettes, as that can be backed up by numbers, however that would belong more in an article on menthol cigarettes in general.
