Why a colon and not a comma?[edit]

What is the reason for the weird punctuation of the title? I've googled but not found the colon given in pages on this work. -- Kleinzach 05:47, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Basic facts?[edit]

Can we have some dates? First performance? Language? Roles? IMO we need the basic facts to make a stub like this viable. -- Kleinzach 05:51, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The title is still a problem![edit]

Judging by the present article, the title of this work is still a problem. Is it Krapp or Krapp ou la dernière bande or Krapp: ou La dernière bande or? Does someone have a proper source to resolve this? --Kleinzach 23:15, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • The title of the piece is not simply "Krapp" but if translated into English, "Krapp's Last Tape", the same as the play. The problem here is that the opera was written to be performed in two different languages, French and German, from an English text. Basically the opera could have a French title, German title, or English title. Typically I've seen the work spelled like this in French: Krapp, ou, La dernière bande, but I wasn't sure what to do with the titling system used at the wikiproject (which I've never completely comprehended). The second comma looks wrong to me, but as I said before we need a proper primary source. --Kleinzach 08:34, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • That's how the published score spells it. See here: [1].Nrswanson (talk) 08:38, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just a web page, no? --Kleinzach 08:42, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
