Physics[edit]

No intent to denigrate anyone's religious beliefs, but has there been anything written on the scientific perspective of why the rock doesn't fall, even though it looks like it's going to? I'd imagine that some physicist/geologist has examined the rock at one point in time and made some sort of determination about why there is an optical illusion that it's going to fall. -- 174.24.193.122 (talk) 17:43, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The rock is well-balanced because its center of mass is located well in the interior, i.e the rock is denser on the interior, cliff side. See Rock balancing article for artificially balanced rock formations. SWH^®^talk 10:28, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Potemkin village"[edit]

In the second paragraph of the Structures section it says: "Adjoining the plaza area is the Potemkin village where restaurants, gift shops, and guest houses are located." I always learned "Potemkin village" as specifically meaning a fake village set up to disguise a bad situation (based on the namesake possibly-apocryphal fake villages), which means the term has a sort of editorial slant to me that I don't know was intentional. But since I've never been to the temple, can anyone who has make any comment on it?59.124.5.22 (talk) 03:24, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
