Attempts to Organize

I tried to fix this up a little, but admittedly didn't do a very good job. One area that especially needs some work is the listing of departments and courses. Would be nice if someone who spoke both Ukrainian and English could translate these, as right now it looks like something out of Babelfish hell. I also removed most of the POV-ish sentences like "The names of some graduates are well-known all over the country." and "Our Institute also takes care of students’ leisure for a well organized leisure is a very important factor in bringing up young specialists." This isn't a brochure, it's an encyclopedia entry, and I don't believe things like that belong.

Kiev / Kyiv / etc

This subject has been covered to almost inifnite length on the Kiev page. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Kiev/Archive01 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Kiev/Archive02, the archives going back to 2003. The concensus is that "Kiev" should still be used for the place name. I would really like to maintain consistency; if you want to vote for the alternative "Kyiv" spelling, this should be argued in Talk:Kiev, and once the concensus there is changed and that article is replaced, it should cascade down to everything else including this page. Until then, it makes no sense to have one spelling on one page, and different on the other.

They call themeselves the "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" (just check the website), so it seems appropriate to refer to the city by this name, BTW the article should be moved to the correct title.
But University named "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute". Look at offical site on english. Why "Kiev..."? Sepavor (talk) 16:56, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Friendly schools?

Are you guys sure that we need this section? As an encyclopedia, I would suggest that we remove this section. For me, it seems it's not required, and I was even a bit surprised to see it there. Maybe instead of a list mention this list in a paragraph from where exchange students come? Although even this is not too important, I think. mno 17:48, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Well, it's a matter of taste for sure :) Some university-related articles do have this "external relationships" part, while the others don't. I think it woun't be a problem to have this part here. Let us wait for others to pass their remarks? (But anyway you were right suggesting reorganizing it into a paragraph view) Loony-bean 07:51, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
I think this section is very important, in particular for the reason that the homepage of the university does those informations not supply. The data are informative for the cross-linking of a university. We should use the possibility of documenting such small information. --Christoph Wagener 09:36, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
The problem is that the ukrainian version of homepage differs a lot from it's english variant. In ukrainian there can be found a list of 41 'friendly schools' (much more than we can see here know). And I think 41 is far too much for the article... On the other hand, friendly universities cross-links would be very useful. Suggestions? -- Loony-bean 10:16, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
I can't ukrainian language. think the most users do so. it will be favourably if at least those "friendly schools" or “co-operations" with its own article (in wikipedia) will be named. --Christoph Wagener 11:54, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:National Technical University of Ukraine.png

Image:National Technical University of Ukraine.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
