Removing libelous information

I am strongly backing my removal of the information that I believe is libelous from this article. Scotch none of it has sources and other editors have labelled it with the NPOV tag. The WP:LIVING guideline says that this information MUST be removed. MyNameIsNotBob 22:41, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

- Hi MyNameIsNotBob, I strongly support your edit (except that the person's name was reverted to 'Stupid Kyle Sandilands', but that was a minor issue). This page has clearly become a target for vandalism and NPOV edits. I have tried to neutralise POV and have reinstated a 'controversy' section with the difference being NPOV references added to all 'controversies'. "Black Devil" comment

Is this latest edit [1] really necessary? Mark Holden is not 'black' in an ethnic sense - Kyle was only referring to the fact that Mark was wearing all black clothing. It was a rather tame thing to say in my opinion and is not notable enough to deem mention in an encyclopaedia. The edit itself admits that there has been no fallout from it - I'd suggest waiting to see if there is (which I doubt there will be) before putting a mention of that in this article. POV

I'm not a fan of Kyle or anything really. I mean, I don't hate him, but I'm more of a Ian Dickson person myself as far as the aus idol judges go. NPOV doesn't mean the guy isn't widely hated. It all looks pretty well sourced. If you find a source that says he isn't actually the worlds biggest tosser, by all mean add the information. Ryan Albrey (talk) 05:08, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

I agree that the guy does does seem to foster this image of a 'shock jock'. He seems more intent on evoking a 'I don't care what you think about me' image, 'as long as I get the attention for whatever I say: that's what counts!' approach to people. I think kyle needs to disappear from radio, tv , and all other aspects of broadcast. keep his oppinions to himself and keep his mouth shut. And that would make the a substancialy better place. Picking on a fellow work mate for something that he may or may not be is not allowed, I can deffinately say if the guy worked for me he wouldn't keep his job for long. Kyle is exactly what has been said in the last article hes an attention seeking child that if he doesn't get seen he starts crap with the little man to get it. I think jackie o needs to cut her ties with the guy and make a stand that no one needs to listen to his crap and the rest of the world doesn't need to here his petty little thoughts... That's great, and it may require protection considering how much vandalism it's received. However I too saw the Enough Rope interview and Kyle was angered by Denton's questions, so removing the hostile state sentence and cite doesn't seem fair. This should be the first thing to seek consensus on. MartinSFSA (talk) 09:14, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
There are some serious BLP issues with this page. I have semi-protected it due to it showing up on 4chan and marked out some issues that need to be resolved. Any article having "Controversy" as its first section header is already onto a loser. Stifle (talk) 14:10, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Agree on the BLP issues. I semi-protected the page for a week based on a request at RFPP, and was shocked at how lousy it was. I've done a bit of triage, but it needs more. Upgraded to C-Class (WP: Big Brother)

I have upgraded this article to C-Class as it meets the criteria, the article has a good amount of information but not enough yet for B-Class. More reliable sources would be good to improve the article. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 23:19, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Sandilands is also said to eat twelve sausage rolls, five hamburgers, at least six beef and cheese pies, four battered savaloys and a half kilogram of M&M's before lunchtime.[20] He also suffers from migraines and has a doctor on his staff to administer treatments (including injections) whenever a migraine strikes.

Too one-sided

This article is obviously really biased and I am assuming that the person who has written it does not like Kyle at all. Everything Kyle has ever done has had negative connotations put up against it such as only stating the nasty comments he's made on Idol and none of the nicer ones, and emphasising the Dave Hughes incident to a large extent. What about the production company he's made or how his and Jackie O's radio show has reached number one? Whackhead Simpson prank

On 30 January 2009 Kyle was pranked on air by South African prankster Darren 'Whackhead' Simpson after Kyle made negative comments about Darren's jokes previously. Should this be under "controversies" perhaps? Although the prank was aimed at Kyle, it was actually his producer who was conned into thinking that Kyle would be interviewing Tom Cruise live.

I've removed the POV tag because I can't see any POV issues with the page. If there is anyone seriously complaining about this page, please state explicitly where the problems lie, rather than random IPs slapping a fact tag on and complaining the article is generally slanted to a POV. The Daily Telegraph claims that Sandilands refuses to apologise 1 but I can verify that this is incorrect. I was tuned into the broadcast this morning and apologies were made at around 8.10am. Actually, what he said was:
"If you speak out against me I will defend myself like any normal Australian would do. If you took a personal offence to it Ali, I'm sorry to you but maybe you should think again before you start going certain people."

An apology?

I'm sorry, but this is pure spin:

On 24 November, Sandilands made a direct apology to Alison Stephenson for the comments he made and defended any claims that the comments had a sexist intention citing that the comments were only his own personal opinion in response to the journalist's opinion which were posted on news.com.au.

Here's what he really said, why don't we let the reader make their decision as to how genuine the apology is?

"If you speak out against me I will defend myself like any normal Australian would do. If you took a personal offence to it Ali, I'm sorry to you but maybe you should think again before you start going certain people."

To my mind, this doesn't sound like much of an apology. You can sourfce this to any one of a dozen reliable news sources, with URLs. To be NPOV, this article needs to be modified with his full statement. Right now, it's skewed his way! - 114.76.227.0 (talk) 05:51, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

That's hardly neutral. And that doesn't make sense. The list of companies that have withdrawn from the show because of Kyle Sandilands has now reached 40. Sorry for the grammar errors. I'm attempting to make the article as neutral as possible while properly citing. You should be concern if the article is not neutral, raise the issue and quote the sentence and possibly provide a paraphrase for it. The use of Facebook as source has been looked down upon by Wikipedia so try to use sources from the official website but if not then I guess it would be fine to use statements from Facebook page.
Anyways, I will attempt to get this page unlocked since there has been absolutely no sign of the main contributors here especially after such a significant event. YuMaNuMa Talk Contributions 08:28, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
