Notable?[edit]

Wikipedia has particular notability standards for inclusion as a stand-alone article. Is this subject notable on their own, or only in connection with Mick Jagger? If the latter, this article should be merged into his. --Zippy 18:51, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hope to flesh out the facts a bit, so that people have a better idea of who L'Wren was, and the contributions she made to fashion. Birth name/family information[edit]

Is there a source for the information regarding her family/birth name? It's not sourced at the moment. As such, it should be removed, no? --Mottad

Bio contains much that is verifiably FALSE[edit]

The purpose of Wikipedia isn't the dissemination of lies. (Is it?) THAT is vandalism, and NOT "good faith", if you're going to throw that phrase around. The lies here are pretty offensive to those from the same Mormon background, who know the truth and tend to speak it. L'Wren Scott's given name is Luann. It's not just some "nickname." Official papers were filed in Los Angeles County Court on September 22, 2006 formalizing the official name change from the very official original name. This is in public databases. Again, NOT a nickname folks. In addition, L'Wren Scott's birthday is April 28, 1964. Her siblings Jan Shane and Randall Bambrough can confirm this. Her mother's name was Lula (hence Luann). Luann/"L'Wren" graduated from and appears in Roy High School's yearbook, a senior in the graduating class of 1982, which is also appropriate to her REAL AGE. Several newspapers have reported this date, but it also appears in databases as well.

Now, unless you're looking to have her real birth date posted with all relevant citations, I suggest you correct what's here and omit the false birth date if you'd like. But this stuff that you keep reinstating IS false. Here are just a few relevant citations:

--July 26, 2003 story from the Daily Mail by Nicole Lampert where a reporter was sent to Utah to interview her mother, who gave her adoption year as 1964.

--April 29, 2010 Brit paper The Evening Standard says "last night," meaning April 28, the family celebrated L'Wren's birthday and there was some kind of party.

--The Daily Mail for a long time continually ran L'Wren's correct age, with no corrections: Age 35 in a story from 2002; 36 in the story in which her own adoptive mother was interviewed in 2003, 38 in a 2004 story. Might I suggest changing it and adding sources? The Daily Mail is considered by some not to be a reliable source, but I'd think it's probably fine in this case, especially if there are other references giving the same information. Perhaps you'd also like to post links to the articles you mention above here first. Also, try to keep a calm head when posting and remember that using capitals is considered to be shouting, and tends to be ignored by some people because of this. March 17 is the date of her death. According to The Daily Beast: "In 1985, just after she turned 18, the frustrated future fashionista changed her name to something not quite so...regional, and set off for Paris." From that, I gather "Luann" is a more rural American name and this worldly minded woman wanted something more fancy. "L'Wren" is a take on "Lauren". I am bothered by our wording "discovered by" photographer Bruce Weber at a Calvin Klein hosiery photo shoot. Laura or Luann?[edit]

We have conflicting sources that give her name as either Laura or Luann. It's been changed over a couple of times in the artile, so we should try to ascertain which is correct. Was she perhaps named Laura and nicknamed Luann? That was the impression I had from reading an obituary in the Telegraph, but I could be wrong. Any thoughts?
