Would it be a good idea to separate this list into Protagonists, supporting characters and characters from licensed properties? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.100.1.68 (talk) 18:05, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

I don't want to tread on any toes or remove anyone else's work, but I really feel that this article needs a little cleaning up. This is an article meant to highlight LGBT characters in games. That is, characters who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. I REALLY don't think that a one-off bit of crossdressing in a game counts as having a transgender character. Comedic crossdressing is incredibly common. 108.12.110.92 (talk) 18:53, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Zimos from Saints Row 3
I'm fairly sure Zimos is implied to be bisexual from several of his lines in the game. From the top of my head, I can think of a point at which Josh Birk asks him not to reveal an event at a party with the line '"Could you keep quiet about the Nyte Blayde rap party?"' to which Z responds "Your secret is safe with me baby." And during a mission when Zimos' plan leads to the male protagonist's nudity, the PC says something alone the lines of "you know, you'll never get me like this again, right?" to which Z responds "I didn't think it would work the first time." I'm not sure whether it's worthy of a mention but I'm throwing it out there. While searching for something to back this up, I came across some minor (ambiguous) references that the PC might be bisexual too, but they're probably too minor to warrant a mention.
I've also removed some duplicate text - Fable 2 had two entries which said exactly the same thing. It goes without saying that people should really check that the game they wish to mention hasn't been discussed already.Weirdtheory (talk) 00:47, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
I think it's original research. If theres any reliable source saying they are, then maybe they could be added.Lucia Black (talk) 06:47, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
Needs to be either completely rewritten, or merged with LGBT themes in video games
Because it's NOT what it claims it is ("List of LGBT characters in video games"). --Niemti (talk) 19:59, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
Removing proposed deletion
The current consensus is that the topic is notable, achieved back before this article was split from LGBT themes in video games.
Also deletion is not cleanup (many of the items in the list could be referenced with their respective games, and the rest can be removed), so deletion is not called for. There's already a proposal to undo the split and merge the two articles back. You could comment on that discussion above, or explain what specifics you in the quality of the article in order to fix them. Diego (talk) 18:49, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

List of LGBT characters in video games → LGBT characters in video games – The current name is misleading because the article is not a list. Unless the article is rewritten in list format, the name needs to be changed. Personally, I would actually prefer a rewrite, but I'm not going to bother going through the effort and risk getting reverted. I have started a very rough draft at User:JDDJS/List of LGBT characters in video games. JDDJS (talk) 21:17, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
- Major support. The article is definitely not a list. And has a ton of unsourced content and original research. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 22:32, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Proposed change
I have started a discussion of a proposed change to this and similar pages that can be found on the LGBT Studies Project talk page. In short, I am proposing to expand the scope of the page from solely "gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered" to "non-heterosexual or non-cisgender". Please join the conversation and comment here. Cheers! EvergreenFir (talk) 21:09, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
Saints Row 2 -- Breasts on Males
I noticed in the character creation on Saints Row 2, you can add breasts to the male characters thus implying they are transgender. Not sure if this is worth noting, but I thought I should bring it up.
- Pretty sure that you can put facial hair on characters that otherwise present as female as well. Euchrid (talk) 05:44, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- Neither of those things make them transgender. Go read transgender if you truly don't get it. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 06:02, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
