Mechanical specs

[edit]

The Lada Xray looks a bit wobbly in the mechanicals department. As a Nissan derivative, it has weak rack-and-pinion steering box which is usually delicate and short lived. Nissan coachwork is rust-prone and many Nissan models in the USA are recalled for severe rusting of the floors and door sills. Lada is also advertising that the Xray has a CVT transmission which is the ultimate in dodgy mechanical contraptions. Nissan CVTs, for example, can't be repaired and they have a notoriously short service life. When they start to shudder and shake, they can't be repaired; they must be replaced at great expense, as much as half the total value of the car.Santamoly (talk) 06:25, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
