Ladislav Mucina a influential plant scientist in South Afica and a world-leader in sophisticated vegetation surveys and mapping, needed for in a diverse range of disciplines from climate change studies to government policy development. This article is of interest and value to a wide spectum of people. Admittedly the article can be inproved, which it hopefully will be by scientists, interested lay persons, and others who are more familiar with Mucina's work.
