Diary illustrative of the Times of George IV

[edit]

How many volumes of Diary illustrative of the Times of George IV were there? 2, 3, or 4? Did they come out at different times? The current wording is confusing. Kaldari (talk) 06:13, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I confused the situation, though the wording is accurate (according to the sources): Symons' annotation regarding WM Rossetti's discovery refers to a third volume, not mentioned in the DNB (1900) and contradicting Cousin's Dictionary. I imagine the publishing history and attribution are noted by a later (20C) biographer of Bury or Blake, and suppose the publishing success (scandal) of the material generated sequels ("four volumes, in 1839" Symons). I wanted the note about Blake, but am currently without access to better sources, so, apologies, I intended to clarify the situation later if no one else does. cygnis insignis 10:23, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
