Name[edit]

I've expanded the article a bit. No, Urdu is spoken in Pakistan. Urdu is a relatively newer language that borrows heavily from Hindi/Sanskrit and Persian. A person speaking Hindi can easily understand and communicate with a person who knows Urdu and vice-versa. There are many common words present in Hindi and Persian— Persian used to be the court language of the Mughals and educated class up to the 19th century in northern India.
