Alumni[edit]

Should Principal Dave Thomas be listed as an alum? He graduated in 1986, and in the early 1990s he came back as a teacher, became an administrator, and is now principal. 72.83.145.163 (talk) 04:08, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Main Hall[edit]

Doesn't the ludicrous length of the main hall warrant mention? Those sevies and eight-balls had to walk a long way to get to gym class.71.63.86.153 (talk) 01:05, 23 December 2007 (UTC)wouldn't know[reply]

Problem is, with renovation the middle school is now next to the cafeteria and the gym. Maybe the hall is worth discussion, but no longer because of the distance middle schoolers have to walk. 71.126.138.251 (talk) 23:28, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alumni[edit]

Why do on air staff members from local radio station WJFK keep being deleted? The rationale used by the latest editor is that "being a local dj does not constitute being notable." You ask if being a local celebrity makes a person notable. Basically, no; not just by itself. The article at Wikipedia:Notability (people) outlines the rules for who should and shouldn't be included. This is what it says for entertainers:
Actors, comedians, opinion makers, models, and television personalities:
* With significant roles in notable films, television, stage performances, and other productions.
* Has a large fan base or a significant "cult" following.
* Has made unique, prolific or innovative contributions to a field of entertainment.
Also, in general:
A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject.
Bret Oliviero, with exactly zero Google results, probably doesn't fit either of these categories. Chris Kinard, as the director of the show, maybe. But you have to prove it; find some reliable sources saying he's notable. If, for example, you found a source saying he has a significant cult following, that would qualify him for notability. "Calling Incident"[edit]

LBTheater[edit]

Awards[edit]

It seems as though all mentions of awards and accomplishments were removed from the article over time... which I dont believe is appropriate. Using Plano Senior High School (an FA) as an example, you see that the awards for the various programs are stated. They shouldnt read as a laundry list, sure, but we can figure out a way to work it so that it doesnt sound like bragging. I dont see any reason why these acomplishments shouldn't be in the article. Basically, the problem isn't whether the information is present, it's how it is presented. For something a littler closer to home, look at the page for Westfield, which lists all the specific state sports championships that they've earned, with a year and sport for each. A vague statement like "the Orch/kg back a long way. Basically, this page should not read like the "About Us" section of a school's website - it should read like an encyclopedia article. Alumni ordering?[edit]

The alumni s,/n,./ection is a bit disorganized -- would it be useful to order them by date of graduation perhaps? Also, a few alumni have /?n.k;/been added without graduation years. School shooting rumor[edit]

Is it possible to mention the very recent incident where a student had threatened to bring a gun to school? The principal, Mrs. Kearns, sent an email out to parents about the matter and that a fake gun was brought to school. To add to this, rumors said that a shooting was to happen on Friday (3/17/2023), however no shooting occurred.
