Ride articles[edit]

I'm proposing a merge of all non-roller coaster ride articles into this article, similar to what is at Luna Park Sydney. Most of these ride articles are better covered by their ride type article (compare Rotor (Lake Compounce) to Rotor (ride)), and moving the bulk of the text into this article, combined with wikilinks connecting here and the ridetype article would serve more of a purpouse displaying the park. Also, many of these articles have a hideous POV and flavourtexting (I again refer to their Rotor and its "shocking visuals"... Rotors ain't that bad).itss sooo fun.

To accomplish this, I'm suggesting that the height restriction information be removed, because I personally consider this to be both unencyclopedic miniature and the specific domain of the park's website and ticketing department.

I'm putting mergeto tags on all of these articles, and if there is no protest at the end of one week, I will complete the merge. -- saberwyn 20:43, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Custom rides should retain their own articles[edit]

A few things. One, the "everybody else is doing it" argument is a valid concern, however I am attempting to tidy up all rides that aren't a ride type, a roller coaster or a simulator to create more presentable and holistic amusement park articles. Lake Compounce was unfortunately the first park I 'picked on' after my own.
Secondly, I think I should demonstrate what I intend, because I think I can salvage most of the info, but keep it cut down and presentable. Have a look at User:Saberwyn/Lake Compounce Rides for an example, once I write it up.
If you still don't think this idea has some merit, and only want to merge some articles, there are two options. One is to only merge some, which will result in either a mess as some articles appear and some don't, or a loss of information as the article is just blanket redirected. Things will get more complicated, but I'm sure that I can sort out appropriate merges. -- saberwyn 23:33, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've done all the amusement rides, and will redirect all the articles here. I have not done Splash Harbor or Kiddie land, as there is not enough information for someone who lives on the other side of the world, but that's a problem for the next person to solve. -- saberwyn 10:49, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually changed hands?[edit]

Can anyone verify/give a source that "The park is currently owned by Parques Reunidos, headquarted in Madrid Spain."? According to the official website, it's owned by Kennywood entertainment still. http://www.lakecompounce.com/lake-compounce-about-us.php But it could just not be updated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ThanatosInstinct (talkcontribs) 20:31, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
