Translation into English

[edit]

If anybody knows when the official English translation of this book will come out, it would probably be a good idea to include it in the article--it can probably be assumed that many people reading the English language wiki would also read the English language novel.

The official German tranlsation is available as of 30th September 2007. Amazon.co.uk claims that the English translation will be published on 3rd July 2008. ChristineD 18:43, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Amazon.co.uk lists a release date for Last Watch of 2nd October 2008, publisher William Heinemann Ltd 141.5.194.4 (talk) 16:27, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"When a Dark Other uses someone's pain or hatred to recharge, those feelings become weaker also" isn't this viewpoint contradicted in one of the books, when Anton talks about a Dark One exacerbating the emotion rather than weakening it?203.11.159.199 (talk) 01:16, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This series is nothing if not inconsistent... Unfortunately, there are good examples to support both viewpoints. I'm not sure whether this was conscious or not on the part of the author. - Richfife (talk) 20:14, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, it could well be that the inconsistency was intended as a sign of the deception and misunderstanding between both sides... However I think the statement on the main page should probably be adjusted to reflect the fact that the exact opposite sentiment was expressly stated in the first book, as it's kind of important to the story... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.175.170.35 (talk) 13:13, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Amazon.com (US) says it shipped the English translation out today. --71.240.92.145 (talk) 14:00, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gloom/Twilight

[edit]

I have changed Gloom to Twilight, as this is the word used in the English translations that I have read (UK). If the word Gloom was used in the US translation, then I apologise.SaundersW 20:12, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just checked "Day Watch" to be absolutely sure. Twilight (with a capital T) is used in the US version of that book as well. - Richfife 21:55, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I'm looking forward to seeing the book. SaundersW 21:41, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Publication date

[edit]

Can someone add the Russian Publication date?24.21.131.140 (talk) 05:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rename

[edit]

I have little comprehension of the Russian language, but with the english publication, it seems to me that the article should retitled to Last Watch and references in the body conformed to that title. Even taking nuances into consideration, final and last mean the same thing. I'm glad a contributor did bother putting the article up before the English release, but unless there is a specific, verifiable, basis to do otherwise, the article title should be changed and links made to conform. Sequel

[edit]

Does anyone know if there will be another sequel to the Night Watch series? Redge (talk) 00:00, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
